No one left in town

(Niemand in de stad – De Dijk)

The rain falls on the pavement

There's no one left in town

Everyone drinks beer in the café

And who doesn't drink, is driving

And spatters on my legs

Cause all my friends went their own way

There's no one left in town

And Paul has overdosed

That's like seven years ago

But I still, can't get used to the idea of it

It was a night, just like this

All quiet on the bridge

But right now, I can imagine, why he did what he did

There's no one left in town

And Robbie, he just took off

He was on a dead-end road

With half the police force on his back

Cause he just couldn't stand coppers

And all he wanted was some luck

Got as a stoker, on a freighter, back on track

And Nell is dead, and mama, and Chrissy

Everyone just dies

And all the others, drink beer in the café

The rain falls on the pavement

There's no one left in town

Cause all my friends went their own way
